The Ministry of Justice announced on Tuesday that it had successfully settled and closed three lawsuits against Dutch companies, retaining 90% of the debt assets for the Iraqi treasury.

The ministry said in a statement today that its legal department had reached a comprehensive settlement with three Dutch companies: Ablo Fashion, Poltri, and Continental Construction, by closing three international lawsuits filed against Iraq.

The ministry explained that the value of the claims submitted by these companies amounted to approximately $800 million. Negotiations were conducted through ongoing legal and technical processes, resulting in the amount being reduced to just $80 million, equivalent to 10% of the original claims, ensuring that 90% of the debt assets remain in the state treasury.
