MP Haider Al-Salami confirmed on Sunday that the demand to question the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance is legal and comes for important reasons related to the budget file.
Al-Salami told Al-Maalouma, “The request to question the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance does not carry any political dimension, but rather comes within the framework of the public interest, as they violated the budget law, and we confirmed this through the Public Prosecution, but unfortunately, the interpellation files that interact with the public interest are not being passed.”
He added, “Everything that is being said about issuing bonuses, promotions, and calculating certificates is not implementable until the 2025 budget tables are prepared, and this is what public opinion must know,” stressing “the need to activate the role of the House of Representatives in the interpellation files and strive to ensure the implementation of laws in a manner that serves the public interest.”
