Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani announced on Sunday the start of production of improved gasoline from the Kirkuk refinery, noting that this development will contribute significantly to covering a significant portion of the local market’s needs. Abdul Ghani told the official agency, “The Kirkuk refinery, affiliated with the Northern Refineries Company, has begun producing improved gasoline, after the recent opening of the hydrogenation and gasoline improvement (isomerization) unit in the refinery.”
He added, “The refinery’s production capacity for high-octane gasoline reaches 12,000 barrels per day,” noting that “this development will significantly contribute to meeting a significant portion of the local market’s needs and reduce reliance on importing this material from global markets.”
