Has the Sudanese government failed to end the foreign presence in IraqAl-Maalouma/Exclusive:
Political analyst Sabah Al-Akeili said on Thursday that the government of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has failed to end the presence of foreign forces on Iraqi territory, despite repeated violations.
Al-Akeili said in a statement to Al-Maalouma, “Foreign forces are still continuously and massively violating Iraqi airspace and territory, which reflects the lack of governmental will to deal with this issue.”
He stressed that “the current government’s responses do not rise to the level of the magnitude of the repeated violations, but are limited to timid positions that do not match the danger of the continued presence of these forces,” stressing that “the continuation of this situation weakens national sovereignty and makes the country vulnerable to permanent foreign interference.” The
Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee stated that foreign forces are still present in several Iraqi regions and continue to carry out operations without coordination with the government, which has led to repeated violations of Iraqi territory and poses a continuing threat to national sovereignty.
