The sixth edition of the Erbil International Real Estate Investment Fair kicked off today, Tuesday, with widespread participation from local and international companies. It’s one of the most prominent economic events in the Kurdistan Region this year.
The exhibition is scheduled to last four consecutive days, during which it will be open to visitors and real estate sector stakeholders. Some 250 companies from 16 countries are participating, reflecting Erbil’s growing status as a major economic hub in the region.
Participating companies showcased their latest projects in the fields of construction, urban development, luxury housing, and commercial and residential complexes.
Managements of several companies have confirmed that Erbil’s real estate market is witnessing increasing investment activity, thanks to the relative security and political stability that is encouraging the injection of additional capital.
Mohammed, a representative of one of the participating Turkish companies, told Shafaq News Agency, “We consider Erbil a gateway for investment in all of Iraq, and our participation in this exhibition is an opportunity to introduce our projects and attract local partners.”
On its first day, the exhibition witnessed a remarkable turnout from businessmen, investors, and Kurdish families interested in learning about the new housing projects.
Kamran, a visitor from Erbil, said, “The exhibition gives us an opportunity to get up close and personal with the latest residential projects and complexes, and we find that the wide variety of offerings helps families choose what best suits their needs.”
Ahmed, another visitor from Anbar, added, “We are looking for investment opportunities in Kurdistan, and this exhibition opens a window for us to communicate directly with companies.”
This exhibition represents an important opportunity to showcase Erbil’s capabilities as an investment destination in the real estate sector, contributing to stimulating the local economy by attracting foreign investment and stimulating related sectors such as construction, services, and tourism.
The coming days are expected to witness the signing of new agreements between local and international companies, further strengthening Kurdistan’s position on the regional real estate investment map.
