Eight members of the OPEC+ alliance agreed on Sunday to increase oil production in October by 137,000 barrels per day .
In detail, the eight member countries of the OPEC+ group, which includes Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman, and which had previously announced additional voluntary adjustments in April and November 2023, held a meeting via video conference on September 7, 2025, to review developments in the oil market and its future prospects .
In light of the stable outlook for the global economy and the current positive market fundamentals, as evidenced by the decline in oil inventories, the participating countries have decided to implement a production adjustment of 137,000 barrels per day from the total additional voluntary adjustments of 1.65 million barrels per day, announced in April 2023. This adjustment will be implemented in October 2025, as shown in the table below .
The countries affirmed their intention to fully compensate for the excess production quantities since January 2024. The eight countries will hold monthly meetings to monitor market developments, the level of compliance, and the implementation of compensation plans. The next meeting is scheduled for October 5, 2025 .
