An informed source revealed, on Wednesday, unusual movement of American Chinook aircraft at Al-Hariq base near Erbil.
The source told Al-Maalouma agency, “Since the early morning hours, the base has witnessed unusual movement of Chinook aircraft carrying unknown equipment, heading towards Syrian airspace,” indicating that “this movement may be an attempt to transport combat equipment and devices inside the base towards the Syrian province of Hasakah.”
The source indicated that “this movement is the first of its kind in months, given the number of Chinook aircraft known for their ability to transport heavy loads of equipment and personnel.”
It is noteworthy that Al-Hariq base near Erbil is the second largest site where American forces are deployed in Iraq, and includes hundreds of soldiers.
