Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw and the head of the Integrity Commission in the Kurdistan Region, Ahmed Anwar, announced on Tuesday the activation of the Integrity Commission’s hotline, number (1015), during a ceremony held at the governorate’s office.
The head of the Integrity Commission said in a joint press conference attended by a Shafaq News Agency correspondent, “The hotline will allow citizens to submit their complaints, suggestions, and inquiries related to combating corruption directly to the commission.” He explained that “information panels about the service will be distributed to all government institutions and departments in Erbil to facilitate citizens’ access to it.”
He added that “the Kurdistan Regional Government supports the independence and efficiency of the Integrity Commission, along with the judicial authorities and Parliament, as they are essential institutions in promoting good governance,” pointing out that about (300-350) information panels have been allocated for the hotline in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), including about (150) panels in Erbil Governorate, including the independent Soran administration.
He stressed that “launching the project in Erbil, the capital of the region, carries significant significance,” calling on government officials to cooperate with the Integrity Commission’s teams in rolling out this service.
Anwar stressed that “corruption is a destructive scourge that harms everyone,” calling on citizens to use the hotline (1015) to report any instance of corruption, emphasizing that their role is essential to the success of anti-corruption efforts.
