The American Play - The International Coalitions Moves in Iraq Raise Security ConcernsInformation/Report..
Security and political concerns are escalating in Iraq with the recent announcement of a date for the withdrawal of international coalition forces from the country, amid analyses and warnings of the potentially serious repercussions of this move. Observers assert that the so-called “withdrawal” of foreign forces is merely a tactical repositioning within strategic bases, while politicians point out that it is part of a broader plan aimed at destabilizing security and exploiting the military vacuum.

Abdul Sattar al-Dulaimi, a member of the Azm Alliance, described the announcement as a “farce,” warning of serious repercussions for national security. In a statement to Al-Maalouma News Agency, he said, “Talk about the withdrawal of the so-called coalition forces from Al-Asad base and Baghdad airport and their transfer to Erbil is a tactic to confuse matters and open the way for terrorist groups to destabilize the country.”

Al-Dulaimi added that “the international coalition is providing air cover for secret ISIS sites in the Anbar desert and is running training centers for terrorists in Syria in preparation for their deployment to Iraq.” He noted that “the move coincides with American-Zionist preparations to target Iran.” He considered that “the withdrawal comes out of fear that the bases will be targeted in conjunction with any potential escalation in the region.”

For his part, security analyst Adnan Al-Kinani denied on Sunday that US forces intend to withdraw completely from Iraq, stressing that what is happening is a redeployment of forces and not a real withdrawal. Al-Kinani explained in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency that “US forces will withdraw from some of the bases where they are present, such as the Ain Al-Assad base, but they will be stationed in other bases, including the Harir base in Erbil,” stressing that “a complete withdrawal is not on the table and that the goal of the redeployment is to continue controlling strategic sites.”

He pointed out that “international monitoring and US movements are part of long-term plans to reorganize its military presence to serve its regional interests, and aim to limit the ability of Iraqi forces to fully control the areas from which they have withdrawn.”

Al-Kanani emphasized that “the partial withdrawal does not mean the end of the US presence in Iraq, and that Iraq needs to assess its strategic position and plan to confront any potential threat resulting from this new US troop presence.”

Iraq appears to be facing a delicate phase of security and political challenges, with the so-called partial withdrawal no less dangerous than the presence of troops themselves. Politicians and security experts are warning that any vacuum or misguided move could open the door to terrorist operations and threaten national stability, while Iraqis are anxiously monitoring developments in US movements and the international coalition’s plans in the country.
