Dhi Qar Provincial Council revealed on Saturday that it has obtained official approval to implement the air ambulance experiment for the first time in the country within the governorate, with the aim of enhancing the speed of response and rescuing those injured in emergency incidents.
The head of the Health Committee in the Dhi Qar Council, Ahmed Al-Khafaji, told Al-Maalouma that “the air ambulance experiment represents a pioneering step implemented in many countries around the world, and contributes significantly to reducing response time and transporting the injured to emergency rooms within a few minutes, which increases the chances of their rescue.”
Al-Khafaji added that he “submitted an official request to the Prime Minister to implement this experiment in Dhi Qar Governorate, and it was approved and the green light was given to begin implementation.” He indicated that “the next phase will witness the preparation of an action plan according to precise specifications and contexts to ensure its optimal implementation.”
He pointed out that “Dhi Qar will be the first Iraqi governorate to implement this experiment, with the possibility of later generalizing it to the rest of the governorates, which will contribute to strengthening the emergency system and rapid response to incidents.”
It is worth noting that air ambulance is considered one of the most advanced experiments in the world, and is used to transport critical cases via aircraft to emergency centers in record time, which helps save lives.
