Kurdish opposition figure Ahmed Amin accused the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), specifically the Barzani family, on Saturday of not being serious about adhering to the agreements reached, holding them responsible for obstructing the implementation of the latest agreement.
Amin told Al-Maalouma News Agency, “From the first moments of signing the latest agreement, we warned of the lack of serious intention on the part of the Democratic Party, especially the Barzani family, to implement its provisions calmly and smoothly.” He pointed out that “full responsibility lies with the regional authorities, primarily the Kurdistan Democratic Party.”
He added, “The political experience in the region over the past 11 years has proven that the party often signs agreements in moments of crisis, but quickly concludes unilateral understandings with the federal government, under which one or two salaries are paid, only to then evade its obligations.
” Amin continued, “As we have repeatedly emphasized, the Democratic Party will not abide by the agreement, and it bears full responsibility for the political tension and complexity of the situation in the region.”
