Member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Mohammed al-Khafaji, accused the federal government on Thursday of not being serious about preparing the 2025 budget schedules, ruling out the possibility of voting on it during the remainder of the current year.
Al-Khafaji told Al-Maalouma News Agency that “the 2025 budget schedules are a thing of the past and will not be voted on this year, given the clear lack of government will.” He added that “the government has embarrassed the representatives and placed them in a difficult position before public opinion.”
He explained that “the delay in submitting the schedules has caused a financial crisis within institutions and halted many services and projects,” stressing that “the government has no real intention of submitting these schedules to the House of Representatives.”
He continued: “Although the current year is coming to an end, we have not yet received any information regarding the expected budget schedules.”
