MP Haider Al-Salami, on Wednesday, called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide official clarifications regarding the map of maritime areas approved by the Council of Ministers in its Resolution No. (266) of 2025, and its failure to be deposited with the United Nations until now.
Al-Salami said in an interview with / Al-Maalouma /, that he “addressed the Minister of Foreign Affairs in order to obtain a clear copy of the map voted on by the Council of Ministers, with a statement of the real reasons behind the delay in sending it to the United Nations for several months.”
He pointed out that “some parties are trying to mislead public opinion and accuse the voices objecting to the Khor Abdullah Agreement of being motivated by electoral goals, while the objection is based on purely national and legal grounds.”
Al-Salami stressed that “the Khor Abdullah issue affects Iraqi sovereignty, and must be dealt with responsibly, away from political defamation or ready-made accusations.”
