On Tuesday, a member of the Coordination Framework, Ali Al-Fatlawi, ruled out the possibility of passing the budget tables during the new legislative session, attributing this to the escalation of electoral activity and the lack of coordination between the executive and legislative authorities.
Al-Fatlawi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency that “the process of approving the budget tables faces major challenges, in light of the approaching date of the parliamentary elections scheduled for next November,” stressing that the preoccupation of political forces with propaganda campaigns will negatively impact legislative performance within Parliament.
He added that “these tables are necessary to implement infrastructure projects and ensure the regularity of government spending and operating expenses for ministries and governorates,” calling for “forming a unified parliamentary position to pressure for their passage before it is too late.”
Al-Fatlawi pointed out that “the lack of coordination between the government and parliament has caused clear confusion in managing the financial file, as each party works separately from the other, leading to delays in approving the tables and preventing allocations from reaching the relevant authorities.”
He warned of “the continued stagnation, which could cast a shadow over the country’s economic, service, and social situation, if swift and practical steps are not taken to address the situation.”
