A member of the Dhi Qar Provincial Council, Ahmed Al-Khafaji, announced today, Thursday, the issuance of an official directive obligating shops and restaurants to activate the electronic payment service.
Al-Khafaji said in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, that “the council sent a letter to the governorate office, including obligating all shops to provide electronic deduction devices without imposing any additional fees on citizens.”
He added that “the decision also includes garages for transporting passengers, obligating them to provide payment devices inside parking lots.”
He explained that “this decision will be implemented as of September 5, 2025,” stressing that “legal measures will be taken against violators after this date.”
