Shafaq News/ Sheikh Kazem al-Fartousi, spokesman for the Sayyed al-Shuhada Brigades, refused to comment on the recent escalation between the United States and Iran on Sunday, stressing that Iran has the right to respond to any aggression against it, and that the war has not yet stopped.
Al-Fartousi told Shafaq News Agency, “The United States is participating in this war, and it is not far from the military developments taking place in the region,” noting that “the brigades currently have no further comment, and there is no official position on the latest developments.”
Israel announced on Saturday the assassination of Abu Ali Khalil, a bodyguard to former Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, in an airstrike in Iran. He was accompanied by Haidar al-Musawi, a leader in the Sayyid al-Shuhada Brigades.
Early this morning, the United States launched airstrikes targeting nuclear facilities inside Iran, including sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan. The strikes were carried out using strategic bombers and bunker-buster bombs, in coordination with Israel.
Tehran described the attacks as “blatant aggression and a violation of international law,” asserting that it reserved the right to respond. Meanwhile, the US president called for “de-escalation,” warning of a stronger response if Iranian attacks on US or Israeli interests continued.
