Shafaq News/ The Central Bank of Iraq announced on Tuesday that its foreign exchange reserves had declined by the end of May 2025.
The bank said in official statistics seen by Shafaq News Agency that “the foreign currency reserves of the Central Bank until May 31 of this year amounted to 96.99 billion dollars, or the equivalent of 126.098 trillion dinars, a decrease from the first of May last year, when these reserves amounted to 97.943 billion dollars, or the equivalent of 127.326 trillion dinars.”
He added, “These reserves decreased from 98.089 billion in April, equivalent to 127.516 trillion dinars.”
The statistics indicated that “these reserves decreased from last year’s 2024 figure of $100.276 billion, or the equivalent of 130.347 trillion dinars, and are also lower than the 2023 figure of $111.736 billion, or the equivalent of 145.257 trillion dinars.”
