Hussein Al-Karaawi, head of the organizing body of the popular movement for the Belt and Road Initiative, criticized on Sunday the attempts to achieve Turkish, American and Kuwaiti interests, noting that Al-Sudani went towards these countries in order to obtain a second term.
Al-Karaawi told Al-Maalouma that “most of the agreements concluded by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani with the Turkish side and his visit to Ankara are intended to enhance his chances of obtaining support for a second term in power.”
He added that “many of the projects that Al-Sudani has worked on confirm his quest to obtain a second term, especially those related to his reception of American companies, work on the port of Tripoli and his involvement in the issue of selling Khor Abdullah to the Kuwaiti side.”
He explained that “Al-Sudani’s attempt to appeal before the Federal Court regarding the Khor Abdullah case falls within an attempt to remain in power through external support, in addition to being positive messages towards the American axis.”
