A bank schedule, seen by Shafaq News Agency, showed that fines imposed on banks and financial companies during the past three months, starting from January until the end of last March, amounted to 41 billion, 268 million, 578 thousand, and 75 dinars, a decrease compared to last year, when penalties amounted to 138 billion, 377 million, 321 thousand, and 527 dinars in the same period.

He explained that “the fines also included 54 administrative penalties for these banks and non-banking institutions, distributed between warnings, notices, and grace periods.”

According to the table, “March saw the highest fines on banks and non-financial institutions, amounting to 28 billion, 759 million, 847 thousand, and 795 dinars, with 14 administrative penalties, while February saw the lowest fines, amounting to 4 billion, 628 million, 140 thousand, and 368 dinars, with 25 administrative penalties.”

The table did not show the names of the banks that were subject to fines and administrative penalties.
