“The remaining time in parliament’s term is sufficient to approve the budget, even if it’s only a month away. However, current data indicates that the government will not send the schedules,” Kocher told Furat News. He added that “several factors lie behind this decision, most notably the approaching election date, fluctuations in the dollar exchange rate, and new projects.”
Kocher explained that “the existence of a real financial deficit in the 2023 and 2024 budgets, and the failure to disburse governorate and project dues to date, confirm that the government does not see the need for a new budget, especially since it has the authority to spend 1/12 of the budget, at a time when it lacks the necessary funding for the investment aspect, with a large number of projects still faltering.”
