Shafaq News/ Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, stressed on Tuesday the importance of working according to a vision that “puts Iraq’s supreme interests first, far from emotions.”
This came in a speech he delivered during his attendance of the “Or 2” exercise, which was held at Balad Air Base (Brigadier General Ali Fleih Base), on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Iraqi Air Force, in the presence of the Minister of Defense, military commanders, and commanders from participating friendly air forces.
In his speech, Al-Sudani said, “Our government has given attention in its governmental program to all branches of our armed forces, most notably the Air Force.” He added, “We have been keen to build and develop the Air Force according to modern foundations and scientific plans, comparable to what pilots receive in developed countries.”
He added, “Arming the army is part of our work methodology, and we have moved towards diversifying our air force’s armament sources.” He continued, “Our pilots today fly aircraft that not many armies in the world possess, and they study at the world’s most prestigious military academies.”
Al-Sudani continued, saying, “We are working according to a vision that puts Iraq’s best interests first, far from any emotional or biased stances.” He stressed, “We have pledged to ourselves to remain loyal to the principle of putting Iraq’s best interests first, no matter how high the cost or the sacrifices.”
