Ali Al-Zubaidi, a member of the Nabni Alliance, described today, Monday, the President’s complaint against Al-Sudani as an escalatory step that should not be taken, stressing that it comes within the framework of political wills and may have serious repercussions on the political scene in the country.
Al-Zubaidi said in a statement to / Al-Maalouma / agency, that “the President of the Republic, who swore to be the President of Iraq and not just the region, is today seeking to fuel crises and incite the street by filing a lawsuit against the Prime Minister, demanding the delivery of the salaries of the region’s employees, in an attempt to export his internal crisis and direct fire towards the Iraqi government.”
He considered “the complaint an unjustified escalatory step,” noting that “this step may lead to an escalation of political crises in the country and exacerbate internal tensions.”
He pointed out that “it would have been more appropriate for the President of the Republic to take the initiative to resolve the crisis of the controversial oil and gas law, instead of proceeding with escalatory measures that increase tension between Baghdad and Erbil,” wondering about “the President’s position on corruption files, most notably the case of the (IQ) company linked to his son.”
Al-Zubaidi concluded his statement by saying, “These moves do not serve the stability of the country, but rather contribute to complicating the situation and provoking more political disputes that hinder the path of national solutions.”
It is noteworthy that the President of the Republic had previously filed a complaint against Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, due to the failure to pay the salaries of the region’s employees.
