Parliamentary Integrity - The Ministry of Plannings delay in announcing the results of the population census raises doubts about itShafaq News/ Member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Hamid Al-Shiblawi, revealed on Wednesday that the Ministry of Planning hosted the undersecretaries and general managers to discuss the delay in announcing the final results of the population census, in addition to the reconstruction fund projects in the governorates.

Al-Shiblawi told Shafaq News Agency, “The committee hosted today the undersecretaries and general managers of the Ministry of Planning, but the minister did not attend because he is currently outside Iraq, and many administrative and financial files in the ministry were discussed.”

He explained that “the hosting session touched on the issue of the population census and the delay in announcing the final results, which raises doubts about the ministry,” stressing that “we asked the ministry to answer the reasons for the delay officially to determine that based on the statistics, priorities for the governorates and their financial allocations will be determined, as well as the distribution of services, projects and entitlements in each governorate according to the population percentage.”

Al-Shablawi pointed out that “during the session, there was talk about the delay in financing reconstruction fund projects in the governorates, and the need for the agents and officials in the Ministry of Planning to answer that.”

He pointed out that “the head of the Integrity Committee confirmed that there will be several hosting sessions regarding the topics raised in the hosting session to be answered by officials in the Ministry of Planning.”
