Masrour Barzani: The banking system in the Kurdistan Region has become stronger and more effective

Shafaq News/ On Tuesday, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, described the banking system in the region as “more powerful and effective”, while stating that 500,000 public sector workers have been introduced to the “Hisabi” banking system approved by the regional government in disbursing salaries and financial dues.
This came in a speech he delivered during the opening ceremony of the “Hitex International Technology Exhibition in Erbil for the year 2024.”
Masrour Barzani said in his speech that the banking system in the Kurdistan Region has become stronger and more effective and has reached a good level, and there is no need for thousands of employees to stand in queues to receive salaries anymore.
He added, “So far, 200 ATMs have been installed in the Kurdistan Region, and our program is to install 1,000 machines in all regions and cities of the region,” adding, “We have so far introduced 500,000 workers in the private sector to the “Hisabi” banking system, and our program includes introducing one million workers by next year.”
Masrour Barzani continued by saying, “Banking services in the Kurdistan Region have witnessed a five-fold development during the past ten months.”
