Plundering the nation of Muhammad... Al-Hais opens fire on Halbousi - He left nothing without stealing itThe head of the “Anbar Salvation Council”, Hamid Al-Hais, said Monday (August 12, 2024), that the leader of the “Progress” party, the dismissed Speaker of Parliament, Mohammed Al-Halbousi, wasted the right of the Sunni component to political representation within the government.

Al-Hais, in a statement to Baghdad Today, described Halbousi as “the thief who left nothing unstolen,” expressing this with the phrase: “Al-Halbousi plundered the nation of Muhammad.”

Regarding the crisis of the parliament presidency that has not been resolved yet, Al-Hais pointed out that “Al-Halbousi holds animosity towards the candidate for the parliament presidency, Salem Al-Issawi, out of envy or fear for his interests.”

He added that Mohammed al-Halbousi follows the policy of “play even if I destroy the field”, indicating that the leader of the “Progress” party seeks to obstruct the issue of the parliament speaker’s seat.

Al-Hais concluded: “Al-Halbousi does not want a candidate from Anbar Governorate to represent the Sunni universe to fill the position of Parliament Speaker.”

There is no disagreement that Halbousi was a difficult number in the Iraqi political equation, especially within the Sunni component during his presidency of the House of Representatives through a parliamentary bloc and understandings with Shiite and Kurdish forces, but, according to observers, he misjudged the situation and went into conflict with a representative who removed him from his bloc to be the reason that made him lose everything, including the presidency.

Corruption operations have declined significantly in Anbar province after the removal of Mohammed al-Halbousi from the presidency of the Council of Representatives. This was confirmed by independent politician Muhannad al-Rawi.

In the details, the narrator said, “Al-Halbousi in 2018, when he was governor for six months, was running the governorate remotely, and the deputy governor at the time was Ali Farhan, who was running things and was implementing what Al-Halbousi asked of him to the letter, and this is what Farhan confirmed in more than one meeting.”

He added, “There has been a significant increase in corruption in Anbar since 2018, and most of the directors of the main departments in the province are accused of corruption and are in prison,” noting that “operations to strike corruption and the corrupt in Anbar are taking place on a daily basis.”

While the narrator said that “there is a great deal of political cover to protect corruption and the corrupt,” he added: “After Halbousi left the presidency of parliament, and Mohammed Shia al-Sudani came to head the executive authority, and separated the overlap between the legislative and executive authorities, he began to strike the dens of corruption in Anbar.”

The independent politician concluded by saying: “Al-Halbousi may not be the first sponsor of corruption in Anbar, but he may be the one who provides political cover for the corrupt.”
