Today, Monday, the member of the State of Law Coalition, Saad Al-Mutalibi, attributed the transfer of the Iraqi-American talks on ending the American presence to Washington to an attempt to bribe and influence the Iraqi negotiator.

Al-Mutalibi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, “The Iraqi negotiator may be influenced by the temptations that will be offered to him in Washington to divert the course of the negotiations,” noting that “transferring the negotiations to Washington is being studied by the Americans to intimidate and besiege the ideas of the Iraqi negotiator in Washington.”

He added, “What happened in Kuwait in terms of bribes is truly a historical mark for the Iraqi negotiator, especially since the Americans are good at giving bribes and many temptations,” noting that “the Iraqi government’s failure to disclose the names of the committees is a lack of transparency and a concealment of the facts.”

US Ambassador Romansky announced today the start of US-Iraqi talks in Washington to end the US presence in Iraq, amid Iraqi political warnings that the course of these negotiations will deviate due to US pressure on the Iraqi delegation.
