A report by the American Clarence Jobs website, which specializes in military affairs, revealed on Saturday that the American company Northrup Grumen, which specializes in aircraft manufacturing, obtained an additional amendment to its contract with Iraq worth 11 million dollars.

The report, which was translated by Al-Maalouma Agency, stated that “the contract previously awarded to the American company is allocated to provide logistical support for Iraq’s fleets of C-172 and C-208 aircraft, which raises the total and cumulative value of the contract from $46 million to more than $57 million.”

The report explained that “the contract will be implemented at the Shahid Ali Fleih Air Base (formerly Balad Air Base) and is expected to be completed by July 30, 2025. This contract includes foreign military sales to Iraq.”

The report indicated that “the total foreign arms sales to Iraq will be $11,179,000 in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Legacy Training Aircraft Section, Rapid Acquisition Management Branch.”

The arms contracts concluded with the United States of America since 2003 amounted to more than 150 billion dollars. According to diplomatic statements, not all of them reached Iraq, and a quarter of them did, despite Iraq fulfilling its financial obligations towards those deals.
