Member of the State of Law Coalition, Saad Al-Muttalabi, expected today, Sunday, that Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, will continue running the Council until the end of the current session, in the event that the Sunnis fail to choose a candidate after the Eid Al-Adha holiday.
Al-Muttalabi told Al-Maalouma, “The House of Representatives must complete its sessions, whether headed by Al-Mandalawi or any other figure, according to the legal text.”
Al-Muttalabi suggested that the House of Representatives session be held after Eid al-Adha to resolve this issue.
The Sunni blocs adhere to their high ceilings regarding the House of Representatives presidency file, due to the intense competition over it and the failure of each party to concede to the other.
