On Monday, the Finance Committee ruled out returning the 2024 budget schedules to the government, while indicating that the committee will work according to the powers to make transfers from ministries to governorates.
Committee member Representative Hussein Moanis told Al-Maalouma, “The committee is keen to ensure that the distribution of allocations to the governorates is fair and just, despite our personal conviction that reducing the allocations to the central and southern governorates is political and not technical.”
He added, “The committee will work diligently, like last year, in accordance with the powers granted to make transfers from ministries to governorates during the committee’s hosting on Monday of the Ministers of Planning and Finance,” ruling out “returning the 2024 budget schedules to the government.”
It is noteworthy that the Parliamentary Finance Committee held a meeting today, Monday, headed by the Chairman of the Committee, Atwan Al-Atwani, to discuss the 2024 budget schedules, with the Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, and Planning Minister, Muhammad Tamim, hosting it.
