Today, Thursday, Ali Al-Zubaidi, a member of the Al-Fatah Alliance, criticized the US administration’s decision to extend the state of emergency in Iraq for another year, while stressing that there is no justification or reason for continuing to extend the decision, the consequences of which Iraq will bear on the external level.
Al-Zubaidi said in an interview with the Maalouma Agency, “Despite the balanced policy that Iraq is pursuing in terms of foreign policy, Washington continues to impose unjust decisions against the country,” noting that “such decisions are not taken against a country that has diplomatic relations with most of the countries.” countries of the world, as well as the stability that the country is experiencing now.”
He continued, “The content of the decision is a violation of diplomatic and international norms between Iraq and the United States of America,” pointing out that “the Iraqi government is required to take political and diplomatic action to lift this decision, which has major repercussions on the country.”
Al-Zubaidi continued his speech: “There is no importance or benefit in extending the state of emergency, given the security control and the current economic and investment development,” adding that “there is no justification that calls for continuing to extend the decision, the consequences of which Iraq will bear on the external level.”
