The Central Bank of Iraq decided, today, Tuesday, October 24, 2023, to launch the instant photo feature for the customer.
A document issued by the bank addressing licensed banks and companies, and seen by Al-Sumaria News, stated the following: “A reference to the previous circulars issued by this bank and numbered 466/1/9 on 8/17/2023 and our directing to you to the necessity of acquiring a webcam with appropriate resolution as a prelude.” To launch the instant photo feature for the customer, this feature will be implemented starting Saturday, October 21, 2023, in the actual environment. We ask that you commit to applying it when registering the customer or when making a cash sale to him. We also ask that you commit to being accurate when entering the customer’s data into the platform. According to what is required in any of your activities to avoid exposing your institutions to penalties that may amount to being denied entry to the foreign currency sales window in the event of repeated errors and related violations.”
