Independent MP Hadi Al-Salami revealed, on Saturday, that 800 corruption files had been referred to the judiciary and the Integrity Commission during the last period.
Al-Salami said in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, “We have referred more than 800 large and serious corruption files, some of them related to senior officials, to the judiciary.”
He added that “there are files that have been settled, including the file of the Ministry of Municipalities, and three senior officials have been judged,” and pointed out that some of the referred files are related to the waste of billions related to the previous government.
And Al-Salami had announced, earlier, that he had submitted an official request to the Presidency of the House of Representatives for the purpose of interrogating the Minister of Commerce on the background of corruption in the food basket contracts.
