Political analyst Qasim Balshan Al-Tamimi criticized the movements of the US ambassador, Elena Romansky, in Iraq and her conducting many meetings with various segments, blaming the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the ambassador’s movements, describing them as moves outside diplomatic norms.
Al-Tamimi told Al-Maalouma that “the moves of the US ambassador, Elena Romansky, are far from real diplomatic representation, especially since her actions must be in accordance with diplomatic frameworks, but this did not happen.”
He added, “The American ambassador recently attended a tribal gathering in a suburb of Baghdad and met with tribal sheikhs as well as members of Parliament, politicians and clerics, which confirms that the Iraqi Foreign Ministry could not understand from the American ambassador the nature of these moves and the reasons for them.”
And he indicated that “the government should be more serious in dealing with the diplomatic file of America and its ambassador in Baghdad, as America’s possession of the sources of power in Iraq does not mean leaving its ambassador to act and move as it pleases, and as a result, what the ambassador is doing in the country is far from diplomatic norms.”
