The Al-Fateh Alliance stressed, on Tuesday, the need to hand over the US ambassador a protest note by the government following the dollar crisis that Washington fabricated, while stressing that the debts of the former regime obligated Iraq to deposit money in the Federal Bank.
A member of the coalition, Mahmoud al-Hayani, said in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency that “the debts of the former regime, which Iraq is obligated to, were a reason for transferring the money from the sale of oil to the Federal Bank,” noting that “America takes the presence of Iraq’s money in the Federal Bank as a means of pressure on the Iraqi government.” In order to pass some policy decisions that are in its interest.”
And he continued, “The position of the people and the government is always against all foreign interference in the internal affairs of Iraq, foremost of which is America,” pointing out that “the delay in the action brought about by previous governments contributed greatly to Iraq reaching the stage of diplomatic weakness in which it is currently present.”
Regarding taking measures against Washington, Al-Hayani went on to say that “delivering a protest note to the US ambassador from the government is the least that can be responded to after the crisis of the dollar’s high exchange rate that America fabricated,” noting that “Iraq’s success depends on achieving internal sufficiency and stability in Iraq at the economic level.”
The political analyst, Sabah Al-Aqili, had previously spoken to Al-Malouma News Agency that “the events of the dollar crisis are part of the messages that America sends to the Sudanese government,” noting that “the recent measures are like a stick being waved by America by moving the street against the government.”
