A specialist in the currency market, Rahim Al-Shammari, revealed, on Friday, that there has been an almost complete halt to buying and selling dollars in Diyala for the fifth day in a row.
Al-Shammari said, in an interview with Al-Maalouma, that “the buying and selling of dollars in exchange offices in Diyala has almost stopped for the fifth day in a row due to the lack of clarity of vision regarding prices, in addition to the fears of many of incurring material losses as a result of the price drop that accompanied the scene in recent days.”
He added, “Some offices have resorted to what is known as the adventure price in order to sell what they have of dollars and meet the demand of customers, especially since the demand for it is necessary to facilitate commercial transactions and buying and selling cases that are not limited to importing, but rather to buying and selling cars and other internal transactions.”
He pointed out that “the price of the dollar does not exceed 164 selling and 160 buying, and it varies between offices, and they are very few in this direction at the present time.”
The market for buying and selling currency in Diyala is witnessing a state of anticipation, especially with changes in the Central Bank and waiting for its next decisions.
