Political analyst Hussein Al-Kinani suggested, on Sunday, the removal of Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi from the presidency in the coming period, while he confirmed that there is a clear desire from the rest of the Sunni component blocs to remove him from the presidential chair.
Al-Kinani said, in an interview with Al-Maalouma, that “the recent divisions and new alliances have a clear desire to remove Al-Halbousi from the presidency of the House of Representatives in the coming period,” noting that “Al-Halbousi’s strength lies in his remaining in the position in order to bring supporters, supporters, and new alliances to him.”
And he continued, “There is a move by the new blocs as well, in order to remove Al-Halbousi from the leadership of the Sunni component,” pointing out that “the end of Al-Halbousi’s party will take place after his removal from the parliament presidency chair due to the close connection between the leadership and the position he occupies now.”
He pointed out that “all the Sunni leaders gained leadership from the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives, and there is an effort by the leaders of the Sunni component to remove him from the position.”
And the leader of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Aed Al-Hilali, said in a previous interview with Al-Maalouma that “there are new movements, aspirations, and projects in the Sunni house represented in Diyala, Nineveh, and Salah al-Din governorates. They will have another opinion in the next stage,” indicating that “there are new leaders who will take the lead in The Sunni house away from Muhammad al-Halbousi.”
