The political analyst, Sabah Al-Akeli, suggested that Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi be removed from power and position after the sectarian talk in the past days and his attempt to return Iraq to square one.
Al-Agaili said in a statement to Al-Maalouma, “Al-Halbousi’s practices and moves to raise sectarian files and promote them through the media will make political positions towards him different, and there may be a consensus in the coming days to remove him from office.”
He added, “Al-Halbousi’s bet on bringing Iraq back to square one and igniting the fuse of sectarianism represents a losing bet, especially since he does not have a majority to support him in raising or inciting sectarian files.”
And he indicated that “the majority in the House of Representatives was won by the coordination framework, and this number can remove Al-Halbousi from power, especially since he had spoken about sectarian files as if he was the leader of the Sunni component, thus moving away from his position as Speaker of the House of Representatives, which is supposed to represent all the people.”
