Today, Thursday, the State of Law coalition was the only offer to the political forces to proceed with the formation of the new government, while the coordination framework demanded the start of serious dialogues and the repetition of the call for the Sadrist movement to participate in the new government.
The deputy of the coalition, Muhammad Saadoun, said, in an interview with / the information /, that “the political process is currently suspended on the basis of the consensus of the Kurdish parties and the resolution of the presidency of the republic, given that the Sunni forces have resolved the file of the presidency of the parliament.”
He added, “The coordinating framework has no problem after the decision of the prime minister’s candidate and the selection of Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani for the position,” stressing that “the framework is required to start dialogues with the rest of the political blocs, and open the door for dialogue, and it has repeatedly tried through invitations to the Sadrist movement.”
The representative of al-Maliki’s coalition explained that “the next government must be joined by all political forces, each according to his electoral entitlements, in order for the political process to witness stability, given that the reluctance of some forces to participate in it will not lead to political or security stability.”
And Saadoun said, “The framework forces are trying in various ways and means to open lines with the Sadrist movement to get out of the political crisis,” noting that “the Coordination has announced that the Sadrist bloc’s entitlement is fixed in forming the government.”
Yesterday, Wednesday, the House of Representatives held its session to vote on the resignation of Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi from his position, and the selection of the first deputy speaker of Parliament, in the presence of more than 230 deputies.
