The leader in the coordination framework, Turki Al-Atbi, confirmed, on Monday, that the Kurdish forces will present a candidate for the position of President of the Republic within a week.
Al-Otbi said in an interview with Al-Information, “The framework’s dialogues with the Iraqi political forces, including the Kurdish ones, are continuing directly in Baghdad and Erbil during the past weeks, pointing out that the dialogues have reached important understandings in recent days about supporting the formation of the next government.”
He added, “In light of the positive changes in the past 48 hours, it can be said that the Kurdish forces will present their candidate for the position of President of the Republic within a week, in light of progress in consensus regarding the selection of a personality for this position and the end of differences in this important file.”
Al-Otbi indicated that “the political scene is going to a new and important stage of understandings that lead to positive results in terms of forming the government and re- sessions of the House of Representatives.” Finished/ 25 F
