Representative of the State of Law coalition, Jassem Al-Moussawi, confirmed, on Thursday, that disrupting the work of Parliament stopped the role of the oversight committees and allowed the passage of many corruption files.

Al-Moussawi said in an interview with “Al-Maalouma”, that “disrupting the parliament’s work is in the interest of those working to pass suspicious contracts due to the cessation of the oversight role,” stressing that “Parliament will have a position on the Ministry of Transport’s statement by noting signs of corruption on the Iraqi Airways company after reconvening the sessions.

He added, “The current executive government will find a lot of room to rob the Iraqi people’s money in conjunction with disrupting the work of the parliamentary oversight committees.”

He continued, “The disbursement of food security sums is not studied and incorrect, and there is a great waste of money in the food security law, and a large part of it has not been spent yet.”

Many political forces called for the return of parliament sessions due to its importance in legislating laws and following up and monitoring the performance of ministries and government bodies.
