A member of the Coordination Framework, Kazem Al-Haidari, revealed, on Sunday, the framework leaders’ rejection of the initiative of the United Nations envoy, Jeanine Plasschaert, to maintain the Al-Kazemi government, while stressing that her initiative is not to end the political blockage.
Al-Haidari said in an interview with “Information”, that “Blackshart sought to negotiate with the political blocs in order to keep the caretaker prime minister or extend the life of the current government,” stressing that “it tried to convince the coordination leaders, but the framework wants to end the current government because it is a big part of the problems.” The political, economic, and security crises that afflicted Iraq now.”
He added, “The current government has contributed to bringing Iraq to what it is now and bears a large part of it by violating the law and the constitution in many cases.”
He continued, “The current caretaker government has lost the prestige of the Iraqi state and has not preserved its constitutional institutions through which the country is run.”
It is noteworthy that the coordination framework strongly refused to involve the United Nations in any political endeavor to resolve the current crisis, and stresses the ability of the political parties to sit at a dialogue table and reach settlements and agreements to get out of the current bottleneck.
