Representative Adi Al-Shaalan warns of the consequences of not approving the 2020 budget and accuses the government of procrastinationOn Friday, the deputy of the Badr Parliamentary Bloc, Uday Shaalan Abu Al-Jun, warned the government to “procrastinate” in completing the federal budget bill and send it to the House of Representatives, while warning against “creating a door for corruption” and creating “waste” with public money, if the budget was not completed.

Abu Al-Jun said in a press interview that “the House of Representatives had previously voted on the form of a binding decision for the government to send the budget law before the end of last June, but the government hit this date by presenting the wall in the first violation of the legislative authority, and violating one of its promises when it was formed by approving the budget.”

Noting that “there are many segments of society, especially the two-day contracts and employees who are awaiting confirmation on the permanent staff and launching their own job grades, by completing the budget and sending it to the parliament in order to legislate it.”

He added that “the government silence on the issue of completing the budget for the remainder of this year will create a section of corruption and waste the public money, because there is no oversight or certain spending limits, which makes us put many question marks about the real goals and intentions to procure this matter.”

Abu Al-Jun called on the Prime Minister to “go out in front of the media and explain the true reasons for not completing the budget, and what are the guarantees that public money will not be wasted if it is not sent, but without that we will have a clear position within the parliament dome towards the prime minister and the Minister of Finance.”
