Baghdad today – Baghdad
Former Deputy Prime Minister Bahaa Al-Araji said, on Thursday (April 2, 2020), that the Prime Minister-designate, Adnan Al-Zarfi, had obtained a majority in Parliament that would enable him to pass his government, but added that the matter was now dependent on holding a session of granting confidence.
Al-Araji said on his Twitter account, “The emerging indications are that the one who is in charge of forming the government will have the majority to pass his cabinet.”
He explained that this comes “in case the Parliament is able to hold the session devoted to granting confidence within the constitutional period.”
The representative of the Parliamentary Bloc of al-Hikma, Asaad al-Murshidi, said, on Thursday (02 April 2020), “There are many motives that will accelerate the passing of the al-Zarfi government if it is presented in Parliament, foremost of which is the Corna epidemic, and the economic and security crisis,” noting that “The new cabinet is dependent on talent and independents.”
He added, “The assigned Prime Minister and his special team are continuing their negotiations with the political blocs and forces,” expecting that “the cabinet cabinet will be decided during the next week.”
Al-Murshidi said, “Even if the candidates are close to the political blocs, the important thing is integrity and competence, regardless of independence,” ruling out “forgery of any minister of the government of Adel Abdul-Mahdi in the government of Al-Zarfi.”
He pointed out that “the mechanism for selecting ministers was cooperation and understanding between the Al-Zorfi office and the political blocs and the various components.”
Concerning the differences and objections expressed by the Al-Fateh bloc to Al-Zarfi’s assumption of the government, Al-Murshidi explained that “Al-Zarfi is trying to communicate with Al-Fateh to end all these problematic intersections.
He suggested the MP for the wisdom, “Pass the government of Prime Minister-designate Adnan Al-Zorfi and by a majority, in the event presented to the House of Representatives.”
