Baghdad today – Baghdad
On Thursday, December 19, 2019, a member of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Ahmed al-Kinani, commented on the possibilities of isolating US President Donald Trump by a decision of the Senate in the coming days after a similar decision by the US House of Representatives.
Kanani said, in an interview with (Baghdad Today), that “the American policy in the Middle East, as well as the presence of Israel in the Middle East, is one and does not change even if Trump is removed or remains in office.”
He added, “Isolating Trump or staying it does not change America’s policy in Iraq, and even Iraq will not change his policy in return with the United States,” noting that “Iraq has interests and has a point of view on many issues, some of which differ and contradict the American directions, and we do not expect to isolate Trump will have an impact on the relationship or dealings between Washington and Baghdad. ”
The deputy from the Al-Fateh Alliance indicated that “Israel’s security is important and essential to all presidents in America. They have worked on this, and they have a political interest in protecting Israel and its survival in the Middle East.”
“We expect that if Trump is isolated, it will reduce the intensity of the conflict between Tehran and Washington, and we believe that it is necessary to reduce it to the benefit of America, Iran and the Middle East,” he added.
The US House of Representatives voted, yesterday evening, Wednesday, in favor of isolating the US President, Donald Trump, in two files represented by the abuse of influence and impeding the work of Congress.
With regard to the file of abuse of influence, he passed with the approval of 230 members against 197 members rejected, while he passed the “obstructing the work of Congress” with the approval of 229 members compared to 198 rejected, so this is the third time that the House of Representatives has been removed as President of the history of the United States of America.
The next step is to present the House of Representatives vote to the Republican-controlled Senate.
In her first comment on the outcome of the vote, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, who is the architect behind efforts to isolate Trump, said tonight was “a great day for the constitution, but a sad day for America.”
Pelosi added: “I cannot be more proud or inspired by the moral courage of the Democratic representatives. We did not ask any of them what to vote. I consider this vote and this day something we have done in honor of the founders to establish the republic and the sacrifices of our men and women in the armed forces to defend democracy and the republic … ”
