Nujaifi warns of turning Iraq into a “battlefield” between America and Iran

Vice President Osama Najafi said that the region is facing a confrontation in the light of the escalation of the existing between the United States and Iran , warning of making Iraq a “yard” for that confrontation.
Al-Nujaifi said in an interview with Al- Jazeera television on the sidelines of his visit to Washington that the region is facing a confrontation in the light of the escalating situation between the United States and Iran. He urged all parties inside and outside Iraq to work so that confrontation.
“There are American forces and popular masses and militias close to Iran are heavily deployed in Iraq,” Nujaifi said, adding that if used in the conflict and confrontation between America and Iran, “it will be a disaster and the Iraqi people will be the fire of those confrontations.”
“We are trying to convince the Americans and the Iraqi government to play a role in preventing this clash inside Iraq.”
