Abadi demands isolating Barzani to start a dialogue on the crisis of KurdistanA source close to Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Thursday that the latter stipulated the removal of the expulsion of Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani from any dialogue on the crisis in Kurdistan.

The source said in an interview with Al-Arabi newspaper that “Prime Minister Haider Abadi told US Secretary of State Rex Tilerson not to deal with Barzani in the coming period,” adding that “it is necessary to deal with another person believes in federal Iraq guaranteed by the Constitution.”

The source, a leader of the ruling party, said that “Kurdish parties share the same approach Abadi, such as the National Union and Change, the Islamic Group and the Alliance for Democracy, and various organizations and movements in the region.”

“We hope that Mr. Barzani will assume responsibility and announce his resignation and allow other leaders of his party, or other parties, to manage the economic and security file with the region, and above all manage the file of the relationship between the Territory and the federal government in Baghdad.”
