Federal Court issued an order to stop the process of the Kurdistan Regional referendum scheduled for next Monday.
“The Federal Supreme Court held its session today in the presence of all members and considered the applications submitted to stop the referendum procedures in the Kurdistan Region and in the areas covered by the referendum
He added that” After deliberation and to provide formal requirements in the legal applications , Issued a presidential order to suspend the procedures of the referendum scheduled for 25/9/2017, under the presidential decree No. [106] on 8/6/2017 issued by the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region until the resolution of the cases established unconstitutional of the said decision, on the basis of the provisions of Article [151 ] Of the Litigation Act Civil v No. 83 of 1969 “.
The House of Representatives voted earlier time to reject Kurdistan referendum, it is obligatory to reject the region and confirmed the move to conduct the referendum scheduled on next Monday.
The region rejected the proposal instead of feet from Western countries and the United Nations.
