A statement by the Prime Minister’s Office that the Prime Minister Haider Abadi and the delegation of the Kurdish political, who came to Baghdad yesterday agreed to continue serious dialogue to preserve the unity of Iraq.
“The meeting witnessed the appreciation of the joint efforts between the federal government and the region in the battle for the liberation of Mosul and the importance of completing the liberation of all Iraqi territory from gangs,” the statement said.
“The meeting also witnessed a frank and in-depth dialogue on the need to activate the appropriate mechanisms to resolve outstanding problems and in a positive atmosphere.”
The statement pointed out that “it was agreed to continue constructive and serious dialogue to achieve the common interests of the Iraqi people and remove the accumulated historical concerns and concerns in order to preserve the unity of Iraq.”
The delegation of the Supreme Council for the referendum of the Kurdistan region arrived on Monday afternoon to the capital Baghdad.
The Kurdish delegation met Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi as he will hold talks with government officials on the referendum, as well as visiting the city of Najaf to meet the religious references.
The Kurdish delegation includes the Kurdistan Democratic Party representative, Rose Nuri Shaways as head of the committee, the head of the Kurdistan Regional Presidency, Fuad Hussein, the spokesman of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Saadi Ahmed Bireh, member of the leadership of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Majid Osman, the deputy in the Parliament of Kurdistan for the Christian component, Romeo Hakkari, and the Kurdish MP of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Vian Dakhil.
