, Announced a senior Iraqi military official said Tuesday that the organization of Daesh radical, no longer controls only 6.8 percent of the area of Iraq, having seized 40 percent of the country in 2014.
A spokesman for the Joint Special Operations Command, Brigadier General Yahya Messenger, at a news conference in Baghdad, said that the “controlled area (from Daesh) to March 31, 2017 amounting to 6.8 percent of the area of Iraq.”
He pointed out that the land was occupied by the organization of space was “amounting to 108.405 thousand square kilometers, or forty percent of the area of Iraq, after its expansion on the tenth of June 2014″.
