Kurdistan calls for America to deal realistically with the Kurds about their independenceBAGHDAD / Sky Press:

The head of the Kurdistan Regional Government Nechirvan Barzani, the region will be this year’s self-determination referendum, pointing out that something under the name of “a unified Iraq” does not exist.

Barzani said an interview with the newspaper “The Inquirer”, seen by the “Sky Press,” that “the situation in Iraq after the Mosul process ends will change but there is no such thing as a unified Iraq,” calling on America to “deal realistically with the Kurdish issue at that point.”

He added that “the future of Kurdistan independence referendum this year, the result does not mean embarking on independence immediately, but if citizens are given the mandate we will go by, and the international community will see what he wants the citizens of Kurdistan.”

Barzani said that “the region will not be back to square one in the relationship with Baghdad, Mosul before Iraq is very different to what after him, and we want a serious discussion with Baghdad until we reach a final solution.”

The date of the referendum on self-determination is before the US elections that took place last year, which was confirmed by repeatedly senior Democratic Party, which leads the region’s leaders, but the referendum did not get Kurdish positions with divisions and increasing political and economic problems in the region.
